Holiday happenings at the Foley Public Library

Posted

FOLEY - There’s lots of holiday happenings this month at the Foley Public Library.
You can head to the library now to participate in the “Name That Librarian” program. The program kicked off on Monday, Dec. 6 and will last until Monday, Dec. 20 when a name will be drawn from among the participants to receive a holiday prize basket. All you have to do is stop by the library and pick out the caricature of each library employee. Patrons will be given a list of employee names, and then they can write the corresponding number by the name to match it to the caricature.
Special Storytimes will be hosted by the Children’s Department throughout the month. On Tuesday, Dec. 14 and Wednesday, Dec. 15 at 10 a.m., the Weeks Bay Reserve will treat attendees to a book read and a bird feeder craft. On Tuesday, Dec. 21 at 10 a.m., Santa and his helper will make a special visit to the library. The library will be closing at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 22; no Storytime will be held on that date.
A community Lunch & Learn will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 15 at noon. A Foley Police Department representative will come to share information about community programs such as Neighborhood Watch, Yellow Dot, House Check Initiative, Project Shield and more. A free lunch will be provided. Seating is limited and a reservation is required. RSVP at the library’s website, www.foleylibrary.org, or call Melanie at 251-943-1031.
Finally, come by the library on Thursday, Dec. 16 from 3 - 4 p.m. for “Caroling, Cookies & Cocoa.” Listen to (or sing along with) your favorite Christmas carols while enjoying Christmas cookies and warm cocoa.
For more information on any of these programs or any other library services, please call the phone number listed above or check the website. You can also check out the library’s Facebook page or find the library on Instagram and Twitter.
