Arthur Mitchell “Joe” Hinson, 69, a native of Dyas and a resident of Bay Minette, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008 at his residence.

He was a retired truck driver for Standard Furniture Manufacturing Company. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served with the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lavender Hinson and Olivia Virginia Conway Hinson.

Survivors include his wife, Willie Mae Ganey Hinson; four children, Kathy Marie Hinson of Highland, Calif., Juanita Joanne (Joey) Rider of Whitehouse Fork, Ralph Anglin and Kathy (Kelly) Lyles, both of Bay Minette; two brothers, Kenneth (Bonnie) Hinson of Bay Minette and Charles (Janine) Hinson of Semmes; sister, Jo Ann (Joe) Faulk of Pine Grove; eight grandchildren, Katen Carlee Lyles, John Paul Lyles, Caroline Lyles, Richard (Heather) McDowell , Ed McDowell, Megan McDowell, Miranda (Chris) May and Jackie (Kyle) Hadley; six great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 10 from the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Presnall officiating. Burial followed at Pine Grove Cemetery.

The pallbearers were Kelly Lyles, Joey Rider, Rusty Hinson, Chris May, Kyle Hadley, Eddie Fergerson and Kaleb Ganey was the alternate pallbearer.
