Hilma M. Barks

Hilma M. Barks, 90, born in Pecan, Miss. and a resident of Spanish Fort since 1942, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013.

Mrs. Barks had been a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Spanish Fort for many years. She also served in various other volunteer activities, and is preceded in death by her husband, John F. Barks Sr.; and her son, Edwin A. Barks.

Surviving are her daughter, Linda (Roy) Tollerson, Warm Springs, Ga.; three sons, John F. (Kaethe) Barks Jr., Kenneth R. (Kay) Barks and David T. Barks, all of Spanish Fort; her sisters, Sara Hamilton, Grand Bay, and Anna (W.L.) Presley, Pecan, Miss.; one brother, William Marthaler, Pecan, Miss.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many other friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 22, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Spanish Fort. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Dr. Franklin Kirksey. Interment will be in Wilson Cemetery in Spanish Fort.
