Helen Marie Wilson Crane passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014, losing her year-and-a-half battle with lung cancer.

Born on Oct. 22, 1935 in Mobile, she resided 32 years in Whispering Pines, Johnson City, Tenn., where she retired from General Shale Brick, spent more than six years supporting her daughters as an avid band booster for the UCHS marching band and enjoyed 10 years house-boating on Watauga Lake at Lakeshore Marina G-Dock.

She has lived in Orange Beach for the past 15 years with her beloved husband of 54 years, Morris “Duke” E. Crane Jr.

She was preceded in death by her father, Swade Wilson; mother Anna (Garvey); sister Gloria (Lowry) and four brothers, Edward Dean, Bruce, Lester and Swade Jr.

She is survived by her brother, the Rev. Dexter Wilson; husband, Morris “Duke;” daughters, Debra (Ted Pedulla) and Danna (David Borders); two granddaughters, Kathryn (Pedulla) and Bailey (Borders); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society in her memory are greatly appreciated.
