Helen Lurene Belk Matthews of Robertsdale passed away Jan. 5, 2014 after an extended illness.
She was a nurturing and loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Matthews; and two great-grandsons.
She is survived by her son, George L. Matthews Jr. (Charlotte) of Foley; daughter, Lillian Bernice Labrozzi (Richard) of Haymarket, Va.; five grandchildren, Annette Spain (Tim), Cindy Beuthe (Dwayne), Tammy Thrush (David), David Labrozzi (Hannele) and Ben Labrozzi (Jenny); and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley. The family will receive friends from noon until time of service.
The interment will follow in Pine Rest Memorial Park. A luncheon at Berean Baptist Church will follow the interment.
