SPANISH FORT, Ala.—The Spanish Fort Education Enrichment Foundation will hold its second annual Haulin’ Hooves and Bull Run Community Day beginning at 8 a.m. Nov. 15 at the Eastern Shore Centre.

Early registration ends Friday, Oct. 31 and is $12.

Fees must be received at any Spanish Fort School, the Eastern Shore Centre office or mailed to SFEEF at P.O. Box 7938 Spanish Fort, AL 36577.

“Participants can expect a safe flat terrain and enjoyable race and also T-shirts with another great design that everyone will enjoy receiving,” Sandra Bostrom, SFEEF executive director, said.

All runners who preregister will get a free T-shirt.

From Nov. 1 through Nov. 15 late registration is $15, however, T-shirts are only guaranteed for those who preregister, according to www.sfeef.com, the foundation’s official Web site.

Registration begins at 7:15 a.m., Bostrom said.

The 5K run will begin at 8 a.m., followed by a one-mile fun run at 9 a.m.

“Funds raised go to the Spanish Fort cross country team,” Bostrom said. “They have been very successful in their meets under the guidance of coach (Chris) Schmidt.”

Walkers and runners are encouraged to bring strollers, however, pets are not allowed at the Eastern Shore Centre, Bostrom said.

“Last year we had several hundred runners,” Bostrom said.  “After expenses SFEEF raised about $2,000.

“Most races are not about making money but getting individuals, families and community together to have good, healthy activities.”

Santa Claus will arrive at the centre at 9 a.m. to walk the fun run, take photos and help give out awards.

Refreshments will be given out after the race.
