Elizabeth Larkin Hatchett and James Glenn Peters, Jr., were united in marriage at 5 p.m. May 10, 2008 at St. James Episcopal Church in Fairhope. The Rev. Mark H. Wilson officiated, assisted by Dr. Robert G. Schwanebeck Jr.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jones Hatchett III (Colleen Campbell Hatchett), originally of Yazoo City, Miss., and residents of Daphne.

The bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Richard Jones Hatchett Jr., the late Mr. Hatchett, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Humphreys Campbell Jr., all of Yazoo City.

The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. James Glenn Peters Sr. (Nancy Hummer Peters) of Macon, Miss., and Prairie Point, Miss., respectively, residents of Louisville, Miss.

He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Perry Peters of Macon, and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Earl Hummer of Prairie Point.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a candlelight English net and lace hand-fashioned gown made with passementerie of roses, scrolls and lily of the valley, with two full flounces ending with a demi-train. The dress was originally worn by the bride’s great-grandmother, Elizabeth Winston Haw, of Hanover County, Va., when she married Thomas Humphreys Campbell of Yazoo City in 1906. The bride’s mother wore the same dress when she married the bride’s father in 1966. The dress was recently restored by Karen Thornton of Mobile.

Catherine Hatchett Reinhardt, sister of the bride, of Winston-Salem, N.C., served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Susan Watson Hatchett, sister-in-law of the bride, of Bethesda, Md.; Cameron Hatchett Huff, cousin of the bride, of Jackson; Pamela Peters Bixler of Mobile, Judith Peters Rogers, of Louisville, and Caroline Ware Peters of Jackson, Miss., sisters of the bridegroom, Erin Lee Booth of Austin, Texas, Kelly Fitzhugh Weller of Lafayette, La., Jessica Berry Deese of Fairhope; Leila Coppage Howland of Santa Monica, Calif.; Camille Root Ford of Mobile, Leanna Bankester Pittard and Calvert Sullins Whatley, both of Birmingham.

Dr. James Glenn Peters Sr., father of the bridegroom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Dr. James Randall Woodson III, of Ridgeland, Miss., and Dr. Benjamin Warren Woodson of Oklahoma City, cousins of the bridegroom; Walter Gaillard Bixler Jr. of Mobile; and William Wyatt Rogers II of Louisville, brothers-in-law of the bridegroom; Dr. Richard Jones Hatchett IV, of Bethesda and Thomas Roberts Wingfield Hatchett of Daphne, brothers of the bride; Robert Lee Brown IV, of Sarasota, Fla., Christopher Alan Green of Oxford, Miss., David Scott Horton II and Mr. Jeremy Brandt Peterson, both of Starkville, Miss.; William Harold Herrin of Walls, Miss., and John Claiborne Jackson of Jackson, Miss.

Flower girls were Anna Grace Rogers of Lousiville, Jane Larkin Hatchett of Bethesda, and Nancy Katherine Bixler of Mobile, nieces of the bride and bridegroom. Ring bearers were William Wyatt Rogers III, and Lucas Jackson Rogers, of Louisville, and Thomas Duncan Hatchett of Bethesda, nephews of the bride and bridegroom.

A reception followed the ceremony at the Hatchett family home in Daphne.

After a honeymoon to Seaside, Fla., the couple will reside in Mobile.
