Harry Elwood Charnock

Harry Elwood Charnock, 87, a native of Wellsburg, W.Va., a longtime resident of Rochelle, Ill., and a resident of Fairhope, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps., serving during World War II.

He was best known for Harry’s Sandwich Shop, later the Dairy Queen, and Rolling Green Estates Mobile Home Park.

Survivors include two sons, Harry Phillip (Roxanne) Charnock of Rochelle, Ill., and Jeffry Curt (Cherie) Charnock of Fairhope; four daughters, Pamela (Ronald) Tesch of Mosinee, Wis., Diane (David) Fischer of Lindenwood, Ill., Ellen Rainwater of Rochelle, Ill., Beth (Barry) Little of Fairhope; brother, Irvin (Conchita) Charnock of Mobile; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12 at Sacred Heart Church. Private interment will be held at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.

Arrangements are by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., Fairhope.
