Happy Harbor new Orange Beach/Perdido Key location opens

The new Happy Harbor restaurant and sports bar received its liquor license on Thursday and will be open for business today, according to General Manager, Beau Gregory.

The restaurant is located on the Alabama-Florida line on Perdido Beach Boulevard with boat access available from Old River. The spanking new building sits in the same spot as the Panama Bob's before Ivan swept it away.

This new location doesn't face the road, it overlooks Old River and houses across the way on Ono Island. This marks the fourth location in the franchise and will include more than 30 televisions with state-of-art entertainment system.

It will also have a menu combined with seafood fare offered at the Oyster Bay location and pizza and hot sub sandwiches like the pizzeria on Marina Road in Orange Beach offers. In addition, it will offer hand-cut steaks cooked in broiler.

Gregory says work iscontinuing on the expansion on the Marina Road location which will include an enclosed band room so the tiki bar can have live music after 10 p.m.
