Claude and Margaret Blackburn, residents of Live Oak Village Assisted Living in Foley, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013.
Claude and Margaret Blackburn were married on Sept. 4, 1943 in Meta, Ky. They have three children, Sheila, Saundra and Jim. Sheila and Saundra live in Villa Rica, Ga., and Jim lives in Gulf Shores.
All three children joined together to give their parents an anniversary party to celebrate their 70th anniversary with friends at Live Oak Village Assisted Living in Foley.
The party was enjoyed with many friends and family members present, including their three children and one grandson. The Blackburns are also privileged to have two great-grandchildren.
Both Claude and Margaret retired in 1982, he from N&W Railroad and she from Williamson Memorial Hospital.
