Ben Hansert has been elected as a Member at Large on the Alabama Hospital Association Board of Trustees during the association's recent annual meeting.
As a Member at Large, Hansert will serve alongside fellow board members to help guide the association's efforts to support hospitals and improve healthcare for communities across Alabama, a news release said.
"Ben brings a unique combination of clinical experience, operational expertise and proven leadership," Danne Howard, president and CEO of the Alabama Hospital Association, said in the release. “Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing patient care, supporting healthcare professionals, and strengthening the hospitals and communities he serves. We are pleased to welcome him to the Board of Trustees."
Hansert began his healthcare career as a registered respiratory therapist at Mobile Infirmary before advancing through several leadership roles. He served as executive director of Infirmary Medical Clinics and president of North Baldwin Infirmary before becoming chief operating officer of Mobile Infirmary in 2021.
A longtime supporter of the Alabama Hospital Association's mission, Hansert previously served three terms as president of the Southwest Regional Council. He also has served in leadership roles with numerous healthcare and community organizations.
Founded in 1921, the Alabama Hospital Association represents hospitals and health systems across the state. The organization works to improve healthcare through advocacy, education and member services.
