Habitat for Humanity of Baldwin County names new executive director

FOLEY, Ala. - Habitat for Humanity of Baldwin County has a new executive director.

Walter Hendrix, a resident of Daphne, recently was appointed to the position by Habitat officials. Hendrix, a resident of Daphne, has many years experience with Habitat for Humanity as well as experience as a successful contractor throughout the south. 
“I am excited to be leading our local Habitat affiliate and look forward to joining with the volunteers, staff and the local community to create new initiatives and build current programs to expand the scope of Baldwin Habitat and to serve many more families in our area. Capacity building will be our principal focus,” Hendrix stated in a press release.
Hendrix has experience working in the position with other Habitat groups, having led Habitat affiliates in Ocala, Fla., La Grange, Ga. and Greenville, SC. Hendrix also has served as senior business developer for Fannie Mae in Washington, D.C., and Mobile.
Mr. Hendrix graduated from Georgia Tech University in general business studies and attended Reformed Theological Seminary to study General Theological Studies.
Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical, Christian organization that strives to eliminate poverty housing.
