Charles E. Gunter, 79, a native of Laurel, Miss., and a resident of Spanish Fort, died Friday, June 28, 2008 at his residence.
He was an elder at Spanish Fort Church of Christ for over 35 years.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Peggy Gunter of Spanish Fort; two daughters, Karen D. (Kelly) Phillips of Enterprise, Diane (Curtis) Gilliland of Montgomery; son, Glen (Sharon) Gunter of Mobile; sister, Sandra Sellers of Mobile; two brothers, John D. “Pete” Gunter of Saraland, and Jimmy Gunter of Mobile; seven grandchildren, Glendon Gunter, Elton Gunter, Casandra Miller, Neil Gilliland, Todd Gilliland, Heather Davis and Christopher Phillips; six great grandchildren, Dylan Gunter, Cody Gunter, Derek Miller, Devin Miller, Taylor Davis and Quinn Phillips; a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 29 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 30 at Spanish Fort Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Jubilee Memorial Gardens in Daphne.
Pallbearers will be deacons of Spanish Fort Church of Christ. Honorary pallbearers will be the elders of Spanish Fort Church of Christ.
