LOXLEY, Ala. — It was a typical Friday night March 5 at the Waffle House on Highway 59 near Interstate 10 in Loxley.

Then, according to Loxley police, a woman ran into the restaurant. She was pursued by a man police have identified as Courtney Williams, 23. The incident happened at approximately 10:20 p.m.

Williams followed the woman into the restaurant,. The woman locked herself in the restroom. Williams allegedly fired three shots from a .32 caliber revolver into the bathroom door and fled the scene. According to Loxley police no one was hurt in the incident.

An employee of the Loxley Waffle House declined comment on the shooting. According to Kelly Thrasher of Waffle House, “The safety of our Customers and Associates is our first priority. We are cooperating with the police in this matter.” Williams fled the scene and is still being sought by police at this writing.

The handgun was recovered. If anybody knows of Williams’ whereabouts, they should call the Loxley Police Department at 964-6000 or their local police department.

The woman has not been identified by Loxley police.

“We have quite a few things under investigation, and Williams has not been caught yet,:” said Lt. Doug Phillips a spokesman for the Loxley Police Department. He added that Williams was identified by the victim and others, and that Williams was originally form the Mobile area but has been living in the Robertsdale/Loxley area “for the past several years.”
