Gumbo & Alabama Slammer Festival to bring two days of food, fun and music to Foley

Heritage Park will host the 2026 Gumbo & Alabama Slammer Festival on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, offering two days of food, live music and family activities in downtown Foley.

The festival will run Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Visitors will find a wide range of gumbo from classic Creole and Cajun recipes to creative versions prepared by local chefs. Food vendors will also serve other festival favorites. Beer and wine and many other adult beverages will be available.

Entertainment will feature national tribute artists with Private Eyes billed as the premier Hall & Oates tribute band. Music will run alongside activities for children in the Family Fun Zone plus a petting zoo. Artists and crafters will showcase unique handmade work throughout the park.

The weekend also includes lighthearted competitions with $50 prizes in several events.

Saturday, Jan. 31 schedule

Festivities begin at 10 a.m. when all food and snack vendors open along with artists and crafters the Family Fun Zone and the petting zoo.

• 10:30 a.m. — Wes Loper Country Band
• 12 p.m. — Dance performance by South Baldwin Dance
• 12:30 p.m. — Don’t Spill the Roux contest (winner $50)

• 1 p.m. — Krash Party, back by popular demand performing 80s to today’s greatest rock
• 3 p.m. — Shake it out contest (winner $50)
• 3:15 p.m. — Sponsors giveaway winners announced
• 3:30 p.m. — Private Eyes, the premier Hall & Oates tribute band
• 6 p.m. — First day concludes

Sunday, Feb. 1 schedule

Festivities begin at 10 a.m. with food and snack vendors artists and crafters the Family Fun Zone and the petting zoo opening again.

• 11 a.m. — Krash Party, back by popular demand performing 80s to today’s greatest rock
• 1 p.m. — Catch the Gumbo contest (winner $50)
• 1:30 p.m. — Gymnastic and dance performance by Flip City Academy

• 2:15 p.m. — Toss the Gumbo contest (winner $50)
• 2:30 p.m. — Sponsors giveaway winners announced
• 3 p.m. — The Tip Tops with a tribute to Earth, Wind & Fire, Kool and the Gang and many other dance classics
• 5 p.m. — Festival concludes

The event will be held at Heritage Park, 200 N. McKenzie St. in Foley. Organizers say times and contests are subject to slight changes.
