Posted

The city of Gulf Shores is accepting applications for a seat on the Gulf Shores City Board of Education, with officials seeking a qualified community member to serve a five-year term beginning June 1.

City leaders said the opening offers residents an opportunity to play a direct role in shaping local education policy and supporting student success across the city’s school system.

Applicants must meet several eligibility requirements to be considered. Candidates must be current residents of Gulf Shores, possess good moral character and hold at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Individuals employed by the Gulf Shores City Board of Education or serving on the governing board of a private elementary or secondary school are not eligible.

Additional requirements include having no felony convictions, not appearing on any sex offender registry and meeting all other legal standards for public service.

Applications are available online through the city’s official website at www.gulfshoresal.gov. Paper applications may also be picked up in person at the City of Gulf Shores Executive Office, located at 203 Clubhouse Drive, Suite B.

Completed applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Friday, April 10. Submissions may be delivered in person to the Executive Office or sent via email to bphelps@gulfshoresal.gov.
