“Music for a Lifetime” is the motto of the Bay Area Strings Community Orchestra, presented in concert by the city of Gulf Shores Special Events Division Thursday, May 24, at the Erie Meyer Civic Center, 1930 W. Second St.
Led by conductor Scott Wright, the ensemble of approximately 40 string musicians is part of Mobile Symphony Inc. This is the third concert in the Gulf Shores Outdoors & In 2007 free concert series.
Doors will open at 6:30 for the 7 p.m. concert. Music lovers of all ages are encouraged to attend this event featuring violin, viola, cello and string bass musicians who love to play all types of music from classical to whimsical.
Seating is available on a first-come basis.
Bay Area Strings Community Orchestra consists of intermediate- and advanced-level string players of all ages who rehearse weekly and perform throughout the Gulf Coast area.
They recently received raves from appreciative audiences in Grove Hill and at The Hamlet in Fairhope.
