A Gulf Shores nonprofit is among 20 organizations nationwide receiving a share of $120,000 in grants from the ALTA Good Deeds Foundation to support community-based charitable work.

According to a news release, Impact GulfCoast, based in Gulf Shores, will receive a $6,000 grant from the foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization established by the American Land Title Association, the national trade association for the title insurance industry.

The foundation announced the grants Oct. 14 during ALTA ONE, the association’s annual conference in Scottsdale, Arizona. Each of the 20 selected nonprofits will receive $6,000 to support its work in the communities where title professionals live and work.

The grants recognize organizations nominated by ALTA members that are making a meaningful difference in their communities.

“The ALTA Good Deeds Foundation is built around the idea that local organizations can have an extraordinary impact when they have the resources and support to carry out their missions,” Steve Day NTP, board chair of the ALTA Good Deeds Foundation and past president of ALTA, said in the release. “ALTA members see the needs in their communities firsthand, and we are proud to support the organizations they nominate that are helping families, serving neighbors and making their communities stronger.”

The 20 grant recipients represent a range of communities across the country, from organizations supporting children and families to those addressing health care needs, homelessness and other local challenges.

In addition to Impact GulfCoast, the recipients are Botetourt County Fair Association Inc. of Troutville, Virginia; Canyon County Festival of Trees of Caldwell, Idaho; Court Appointed Special Advocates of Paulding County Inc. of Dallas, Georgia; Diabetes Will’s Way of Carmel, Indiana; Hope on the Block of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; JC7 Foundation of Austin, Texas; Kamp KACE of Fargo, North Dakota; Miko’s Place of Schwenksville, Pennsylvania; Minnesota Kids Foundation of Mapleton, Minnesota; Operation America Standing In Support (OASIS) of Merritt Island, Florida; Our Destiny Our Future Foundation of Phoenix, Arizona; Smart Bellies of Frisco, Colorado; Survivor Empowerment Center of Carbondale, Illinois; THA Inc. of Topeka, Kansas; The Blind Social Center Inc. of Gary, Indiana; The Jayna Kelley Memorial Foundation of Tony, Wisconsin; The Next Step Homeless Services of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Venture 4 Legacy of Dearborn, Michigan; and Will Erwin Headache Research Foundation of Houston, Texas.

ALTA CEO Chris Morton said the grants reflect the title industry's commitment to supporting communities beyond its work in real estate transactions.

“The generosity behind the ALTA Good Deeds Foundation reflects the strong connection title professionals have to the communities they serve,” Morton said. “Our members help protect homebuyers, homeowners and property rights every day, but their commitment to their communities extends well beyond the closing table. These grants are another way the title industry is helping strengthen communities across the country.”

The ALTA Good Deeds Foundation supports charitable organizations nominated by members of the title insurance industry, directing funding to local nonprofits working to improve lives and strengthen their communities.
