A Gulf Shores man died in a car crash Friday afternoon just north of Elberta, state law enforcement officials said.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at about 5:50 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, when a 2016 GMC Sierra pickup truck struck a 2008 Scion TC on Baldwin County 87 near Merchant Lane, about three miles north of Elberta, according to a press release from Sgt. Jeremy J. Burkett, public affairs coordinator for Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. The driver of the Scion, Kim Sung Gov, 40, died on scene.
Both the driver and a passenger of the GMC were injured and transported to Gulf Shores Free Standing Hospital for treatment. The driver is a 21-year-old man. His passenger is 44. They are both from Dallas, Texas.
ALEA troopers continue to investigate the incident.
