GULF SHORES, Ala. — The Gulf Shores High School Basketball Teams held their annual banquet on Sunday, February 27, 2011. Our guest speaker was Mr. Joe Gottfried who encouraged our players to do well in school, persevere through hardships and set personal goals. We appreciate his message as well as the presence of his wife, Mary, at our banquet.

Coach Rhett Tranchina congratulated the Lady Dolphins for their winning season and presented several awards. The Scholar Athlete award went to Sarah Uter who has the highest GPA of the Lady Dolphins. Meagan Davis won “Most Valuable Player”; Laura Peavy won “Most Offensive Player”; and Millicent Cassady won “Most Defensive Player”. All of these awards were voted on by their teammates. Coach Tranchina also thanked Coach Brittany Allison for her hard work and dedication to the Lady Dolphins.
