GULF SHORES, Alabama — The Gulf Shores Lady Dolphins defeated Station Camp, Tenn. 4-1 in the Gulf Coast Classic softball tournament on Tuesday.
Jordan Reynolds (5-5) struck out five hitters in four innings to get the win for Gulf Shores, who plays in the Robertsdale High School tournament on Friday.
"Jordan came out and gave us another solid performance," Gulf Shores head coach Trevor Powell said. "I'm really happy with the way we played."
Nicole Wallace went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs scored, Kelsey Boone had two sacrifices and two RBIs and Lauren Corbett had a double with two RBIs in the win.
"We played well tonight," Powell said. "This was really the first time we stepped on the field since we played LeFlore, so we haven't really been able to practice because of rain and because of us hosting this tournament. I wasn't sure which bunch was going to show up, but the right bunch did. We played well defensively and had some timely at bats."
Gulf Shores was scheduled to play Natchez Cathedral (Miss.) in the nightcap, but the game was canceled when Cathedral did not return to the Gulf Shores Sportsplex after its afternoon games.
