Jesse’s on the Bay in the Fort Morgan peninsula was named Restaurant of the Month for July by Southern Living this week.
The establishment opened in 2023 as a coastal offshoot of of Jesse’s Restaurant in Magnolia Springs and has become a favorite casual dining spot in the South Baldwin area, known for scenic waterfront views of Bon Secour Bay and a seasonal menu featuring steaks, seafood and other delicacies.
“Executive Chef Randy Harris and Chef de Cuisine Brooke Ghioto elevate the menu of Jesse’s on the Bay with coastal favorites, while keeping it rooted in the premium steakhouse traditions of the original Jesse’s,” Southern Living writer Kimberly Holland said in a feature published on Wednesday, July 8. “Alongside steaks and pork chops you can order from the raw bar, with oysters, shrimp, ceviche and tuna among other fresh offerings. The two restaurants share a name and a culinary philosophy — but Jesse’s on the Bay sets itself apart with several menu additions that are unique to the location and the setting.”
This year, Southern Living has been spotlighting restaurants across the South each month, as picked by their editors, highlighting “exceptional dining, thoughtful design and a distinctive influence on community.” In December, the publication will bestow an establishment with Restaurant of the Year.
“We are deeply grateful to Southern Living for this incredible honor and for sharing our story with readers across the South,” Jesse’s on the Bay posted on Facebook. “We look forward to welcoming both familiar faces and first-time visitors to experience everything that makes Jesse’s on the Bay so special.”
