Gulf Shores City Schools students flooded the streets with smiles and purpose on Thursday, March 14, as they embarked on a collective mission to give back to their city.
Gulf Shores City Schools recently made a significant impact on the community with the successful launch of their inaugural "Gulf Shores Gives Back" day of service on March 14. The event, aimed at fostering a sense of unity among students, teachers and community members, garnered an impressive turnout.
Participants engaged in a variety of service projects, including beach cleanups, park revitalization efforts, washing Gulf Shores city vehicles, meal deliveries to those in need, visits to local nursing homes and more. Spearheaded by the Gulf Shores City Schools' Mental Health Advisory Committee, the initiative brought together students from grades K-12. Community involvement was encouraged through multiple channels, including sponsorships, hosting service projects and active participation in the day's activities.
Several local organizations, such as The Learning Campus at Gulf State Park, the Center of Ecotourism and the Christian Service Center, joined forces with the school system to support various service events.
