The second annual “Harvest – A Festival of Gifts” is scheduled for Nov. 6 at the Gulf Shores United Methodist Church.
This festival will showcase original works by local artists and crafters, offer holiday gifts, a silent auction and entertainment to the community. Proceeds from this event will benefit Gulf Shores United Methodist Church and provide scholarships for their Mothers Day Out ministry.
The Harvest’s organizing committee is currently recruiting local exhibitors to sell their works at this event. Anyone with a unique, original, and creative art or craft talent is encouraged to apply. Examples of types of exhibitor booths needed are – but not limited to – ceramics, pottery, drawing, painting, sewing, monogramming, glass, jewelry, metal or wood art and photography.
The Harvest is meant to honor and support our local artists while offering a variety of special holiday gifts to the community.
There will be a “Heart of the Harvest” recognition award presented based on overall creativity, individuality, and the means in which the artist “celebrates” their given gift of art.
New this year will be the “Green Zone.” This will be an area specifically displaying works by “eco-friendly” artists and crafters that “up-cycle” to make their specifics works of art.
Exhibitor applications are being accepted until Oct. 6. Exhibit spaces will be $35 and each participant is asked to give back 10 percent of their sales to the Gulf Shores United Methodist Church for their ministries.
For an application or more information regarding the Harvest, please e-mail Lindsay Schumacher at nursecall1@hotmail.com, call Lana Crawford at 251-968-4328, or call Stacy Watson at 251-281-6155. This event will be held at the South Campus of the Gulf Shores United Methodist Church. Sponsorship opportunities are currently available.
