FOLEY, Alabama — The Gulf Shores Dolphins picked up their third consecutive win and spoiled Foley's senior night celebration with a 64-61 win over the Lions on Monday.

The Dolphins got 24 points from Kendall Annan and 16 from Brandon Silvers in their final regular season game. Gulf Shores, who has defeated three Class 6A teams in a row, will visit Spanish Fort to play the host Toros in the 5A Area 2 tournament on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

"We didn't play perfect tonight, but we played hard and in the second half we seemed to want it a lot more than we did in the first half," Gulf Shores head coach Clint Wigley said. "I'm really proud of the way they responded. I challenged them at halftime and they responded really well."

The Dolphins led 14-10 after one period but Foley came back to take a 31-24 lead at the half. Gulf Shores went on a 12-3 run to start the second half with two threes from Annan and one each from Ryan Godwin and Daniel LaBorde. They led 43-39 to start the fourth period.

Annan scored 18 of his 24 points in the second half. Silvers was 6-of-6 from the free throw line in the fourth period.

"Kendall is just a good basketball player, he just makes plays," Wigley said. "He has responded really well to what I have asked him to do. I thought Brandon (Silvers) led us in the first half, then Kendall led us in the second half. Both those guys played really well tonight."

Rafael Adams led Foley with 29 points, and Zavion Strickland had 11. The Lions play Robertsdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday in the 6A Area 3 tournament at Daphne.

GIRLS: In the girls game, Bethany Ogden scored a game-high 37 points and the Gulf Shores Lady Dolphins held on for a 61-52 win over Foley.

The Lady Dolphins won their third straight game over a Class 6A opponent and play rival Spanish Fort in the opening round of the 5A Area 2 tournament at LeFlore at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Ogden hit five three-pointers in the win for Gulf Shores, and Hannah Wilson added 11 points for the Lady Dolphins. Ogden's 37 points gave her 1,917 for her career.

"Hannah was on tonight," Gulf Shores head coach Austin Boyd said. "She is usually good on defense but tonight she broke out on offense. Skylar (Stuckey), Sarah (Uter), Nicole (Wallace) and Harleigh (Wilson) all had good games for us. Bethany broke the 1,900 points mark. Just a good team effort for everybody."

Foley plays in the 6A Area 3 tournament against host Daphne at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
