GULF SHORES, Alabama — Gulf Shores pitcher Jordan Odom threw a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts as the Dolphins defeated the Eufaula Tigers 6-1 on Monday in the Gulf Coast Classic II at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex.
Odom improved to 4-1 overall as the Dolphins (10-10) built a 6-1 lead after three innings. Brandon Davis opened the Gulf Shores scoring with a two-run homer that sent Brooks Mason home in the bottom of the first. The Dolphins tacked on three more runs in the second on RBIs from Odom and Mason, then sealed the victory with an RBI single from Chris Brown in the third.
Raequan Kelley (3-2) gave up six runs on eight hits with three strikeouts to take the loss for the Tigers (8-8). Luke Ates had an RBI double for Eufaula, who plays Daphne at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Robertsdale High School. Gulf Shores hosts Trinity and Thorsby at 4:30 and 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
