MOBILE – The Dolphins started the game with a spark but couldn’t hold onto it as the LeFlore Rattlers beat Gulf Shores 27-14 in a Class 5A second round playoff game on Friday at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

Gulf Shores senior quarterback Logan Paul connected with senior receiver Brandon Gottfried for a 69 yard touchdown pass on the Dolphins’ first play from scrimmage.

The Dolphins struggled on offense for the rest of the first half and the teams were tied at 7 at the break.

Paul finished with close to 350 yards passing and Gottfried had almost 200 total yards in the loss.

Gulf Shores finished the season with a school best 9-3 record under new head coach Mark Freeman. The Dolphins also got the school’s first playoff win last week at Tallassee.

Gulf Shores has to replace 25 seniors from this year’s team.
