The City of Gulf Shores presents Entertainment Series 2011, featuring several nights and artists to suit a broad scope of interests and schedules. The full series package of seven shows is available for just $198 or $170 per person depending on your seating choice. If that is too much of a commitment, you can pick and choose individual performances.

There’s bound to be someone on your list who will enjoy a show or two

Tickets are available 24/7 online at www.gulfshoresal.gov/specialevents/ticketsales.html or may be purchased in person at the Erie H. Meyer Civic Center at ntersection of West. 19th Avenue and West Second Street, Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Put tickets at the top of your “to buy” list!

The first offering Jan. 17-18 features a quartet of former military personnel. Patriotic ballads and heartfelt harmony will highlight this appearance by 4Troops. Three men and one woman have defended our country abroad and are now traveling the world to sing her praises. Tickets are just $26 or $22, depending on how close to the stage you choose. Your heart will swell with patriotism when you hear their stories and songs.

For those who prefer dramatic presentation, multi-award-winning actor/singer/songwriter, David Pomeranz, brings his hugely entertaining “Chaplin — A Life” in Concert on Jan. 24-25. Tickets for this one-man show are priced at $26 or $22.

Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 bring American Big Band to Gulf Shores. This professional touring ensemble will dance, sing and play their way through our favorite tunes from the Big Band era. Tickets are $28 or $24.

On Feb. 7-9 folk pioneers, The Kingston Trio, promise memories of days gone by. From the distinctive “Tom Dooley” to “Lemon Tree”, you are sure to remember singing along with these familiar songs. $28 or $24 will reserve your seat!

Just in time for Valentine’s, Patti Page sings many songs appropriate for sweethearts. The Feb. 14-15 performances are sure to feature “Tennessee Waltz”, “I Went to Your Wedding”, “How Much is that Doggie in the Window?” Tickets may be had for $36 or $32.

Riders in the Sky will follow the “Tumblin’ Tumbleweed” into town Feb. 28 & March 1. After more than 30 years of keeping the flame passed by Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, and The Sons of the Pioneers, this quartet is still bringing “The Cowboy Way” to audiences worldwide. From symphony halls to the movie, “Toy Story 2: Woody’s Round-up” and the Yellawood advertising campaign, Riders in the Sky are an appealing group. Tickets: $26 or $22.

The National Dance Company of Ireland performs Rhythm of the Dance March 7-9, bringing the Entertainment Series 2011 to a close.  Tickets to this Emerald Isle celebration are $28 or $24.
