Baldwin County has always been full of athletic talent, and a plethora of players from the area have gone on to have successful careers at the collegiate and/or professional level.

So in this weekly series, I’ll be highlighting how former local stars fared each week, breaking down their performances and how their respective careers are progressing.

Abrams-Draine recorded a season-high in tackles against the 49ers.

Kolin Wilson

Mississippi State Bulldogs | Running Back | Redshirt-Freshman

High School: Gulf Shores Dolphins

Previous Game(s): 56-23 L vs. Alabama Crimson Tide

Personal Stats: 10 carries, 27 rushing yards

Due to normal starting tailback Fluff Bothwell exiting early with an injury, Wilson led the Bulldogs in rushing yards and tied for the team-lead in carries during a marquee matchup with the Crimson Tide.

The heavy workload in an important contest shows that the MSU coaching staff has plenty of trust in Wilson despite his young age.

Royal was productive in the secondary as the Wolfpack secured a much-needed win over Louisville.

High School: Bayside Academy Admirals

Personal Stats: 1 tackle

Following a standout career with the Admirals, Partin kicked off his time as a Demon Deacon by recording his first collegiate tackle against Stanford.

Wake Forest is currently dealing with some injuries within its linebacking corps, which is giving youngsters like Partin more of a chance to see the field.

Personal Stats: 2 catches, 27 receiving yards, 44 punt-return yards

In the ‘Battle for Birmingham,’ Mims ranked second on the team in receiving yards and produced an explosive 42-yard punt return as the Blazers won their second game in a row.

Fauntroy recorded three tackles against the Jaguars to raise his season total to 18.

It was a memorable day for Clark, as the former Trojan recorded a career-high in carries and rushing yards while leading the Statesmen to a dominant win.

Having now run for over 200 yards in Delta State’s past two games, it’s safe to say that Clark is beginning to become the workhorse within the team’s backfield.

Cameron Cooper

Huntingdon College Hawks | Linebacker | Senior

High School: Gulf Shores Dolphins

Previous Game(s): 31-6 W @ Methodist Lions

Personal Stats: 5 tackles, 1 interception

Cooper led the Hawks in tackles and recorded his first interception as the former Dolphin produced a breakout performance against the Lions.

The veteran linebacker even managed to return the pick for 15 yards.

Blake Brunick

Huntingdon College Hawks | Linebacker | Freshman

High School: Orange Beach Makos

Brunick recorded his first tackle for loss against the Lions, and the former Mako is continuing to be a consistent contributor for Huntingdon’s defense.
