The 2007 Gulf Coast Jazz Camp, part of the Jim Widner Jazz Clinic Series, will be held at the University of South Alabama in the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center June 3-8.
The camp will feature services such as musical instruction from beginner to advanced, jazz improvisation and ensemble playing, combo playing, master and jazz theory classes, jam sessions and concerts, and faculty artist instruction in specialized classes.
The camp’s faculty includes Jim Widner, bass and artistic director; Tracy Heavner and Larry Panella, saxophone and woodwinds instructors; Dave Scott, trumpet instructor; Ken Kehner, piano instructor; Wayne Coniglio, trombone instructor; and Clancy Newell, drums instructor.
Dr. Greg Gruner, chair of USA's department of music, is camp director.
