Augustine Victor Guarisco, 87, a native and resident of Daphne, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009 at a local hospital.
He served the City of Daphne as Councilman for 24 years and as Mayor for 16 years, retiring in 1992. He was a World War II Veteran.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Anna Allegri, Mary Guarisco and Helen Posey; and a brother, Joseph Guarisco.
Suvivors include his wife, Doris Davis Guarisco of Daphne; three sons, William Robert (Charlene) Davis of Helena, Thomas Frederick (Debbie) Davis of Mobile, and Paul Z. (Kathy) Davis of Fairhope; daughter, Marilyn D. (Larry) King of Daphne; two brothers, Julian (Pat) Guarisco and Alfred (Joan) Guarisco, both of Daphne; three sisters:, Theresa G. Lynch of Fairhope, Angele “Teeny” (Red) Trione of Daphne and Cecelia G. Wood of Point Clear; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at noon Saturday, Jan. 10 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Daphne. Interment will follow at Belforest Catholic Cemetery.
