The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office has completed its investigation into allegations of sexual improprieties against a Foley police officer.
"The investigation is basically through at this point," said Maj. Anthony Lowery of BCSO in comments made Tuesday. "Everything is ready to move forward to the grand jury."
The Baldwin County grand jury will convene in August.
BCSO announced in a press release on June 3 that it was looking into the allegations against the officer whose name hasn't been released to date. Foley Police Chief David Wilson said he learned of the allegations against the officer, who has been described as a "veteran" officer, during the weekend of June 9.
While the BCSO investigation is essentially complete at this point, Lowery said sheriff's investigators will continue to seek information relative to the case up until the case is turned over to the grand jury.
