FAIRHOPE, Ala. - The Baldwin County Education Coalition Golf Classic Sept. 12 at Rock Creek Golf Club in Fairhope will benefit Baldwin County’s schools.

The event, presented by the Baldwin County Sewer Service, will begin at 11:30 a.m.

“Thanks to our title sponsor, Baldwin County Sewer Service, this event offers a fun way to support education throughout Baldwin County public schools,” said Terry Burkle, executive director. “This summer, our organization has reached some key milestones, such as a contract with the Baldwin County Board of Education to implement a Partners in Education program connecting schools with area businesses, our first paid staff, and now our first fundraiser. All these efforts will have a tremendous impact on the quality of education in our county.”

The four-man scramble amateur event features chances for large prizes including: a hole-in-one chance to win a $30,000 boat, split the pot ball drop for a chance to win $5,000, and prizes for first, second and third place team finishers.

In another interesting twist, corporate sponsors will be highly visible on each tee box with a company display, and some will feature a unique challenge on that particular hole, including obstacles such as a toilet seat around the hole on the green, or a very small cup.

“We are very excited to introduce a key fundraiser for the coalition that will help gain recognition for this commendable organization while making a significant impact throughout the whole community,” said Jenny Williams, Baldwin County Sewer Service’s marketing director.

Luncheon ($1,500), corporate ($1,000) and team sponsorships ($600) are still available for the event, and each of the above incudes four players, lunch, goody bag and many other benefits to participants.

Sponsors include Baldwin County Sewer Service as the title sponsor; JH Wright, Goodwyn, Mills & Caywood, Trustmark National Bank, Preble-Rish Inc., Sportsman’s Marine, Benchmark Homes and Gwin’s Commercial Printing.
