Stanley David Godbold Jr., 64, died Sunday, May 27, 2007 in Atlanta.

He was a 1961 graduate of Wilcox County High School.  He attended the University of Montevallo, Livingston University, and Liberty Bible College. He served as a medic in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a resident of Gulf Shores, where he was employed by Alabama State parks. He was a member of the South Baldwin Community Theater where he performed in many productions including “Annie,” “South Pacific,” “Oklahoma,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “HMS Pinafore,” “Harvey,” and many others. 

He was a member of Gulf Shores Gulfway Assembly of God. His interests included reading, classical, jazz and contemporary music, movies, and the arts, and exploring the outdoors. He had a vast knowledge about an unlimited range of topics. He was always “on stage” and was a delight to all who knew him. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Judge Stanley D. Godbold Sr.

Survivors include his mother, Mary H. Godbold; son, Derek J. Godbold and a daughter-in-law, Kendra; sister, Nancy (Akbar) Mirkheshti; brother, Donald Godbold; and nephew, Zach Godbold, Josh Godbold, Wes Godbold and Bijan Mirkheshti; and niece, Holly Mirkheshti.  

Services and vistitation were held Wednesday, May 30 at Camden United Methodist Church. Burial followed at Camden Cemetery.
