Frank Lorne Glover, born July 12, 1928 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, former resident of Richmond, Va., and a resident of Daphne since 1993, died Saturday, March 28, 2009.
He was a proud veteran of World War II, the Korean War and a patriotic naturalized citizen. As a graduate of the University of Buffalo, he was an avid follower of the UB athletic program. His career included education, sales, and business prior to an untimely retirement due to health issues.
He was a lifetime member of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, an active community volunteer and a member of Saint Paul's Episcopal Church.
His generosity, intellect and wit endeared him to those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rose W. and Frank Glover.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Elaine Evans Glover of Daphne; brother, Edwin W. (Lillian) Glover of Lake Isabella, Calif.; grandchildren, Nathan Ross Evans and Elyse Anne Evans of Montgomery and several cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 2 at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Daphne with the Rev. Thack Dyson officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at 2 p.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, Fla.
The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church Building Fund, 28788 N. Main St., Daphne, or to St. Paul's Thrift Shop.
