Annie R. (Ann) Gilbert, 85, a resident of Bay Minette, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009 at her daughter's home in Bay Minette.
She was a member of the Ella D. Chambers Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Wind Clan of the Porch Band of the Lower Muscoggee Creek Indian Nation.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, William E. Stacey, who was killed in action in World War II, and B.B. Comer Gilbert Sr.; son, William Barnette Stacey; step-daughter, Frankie Mae Mann; two sisters, Isabelle Woods Sagers and Louise Hollinger; and four brothers, Leon Gibson, Uby Gibson, Dick Gibson and Howard Gibson.
Survivors include four children, Rita (Doug) Hanners of Hartselle, B.B. Comer (Ella) Gilbert Jr., and Joanne (Wayne) Boyette, both of Bay Minette; step-daughter, Jacqueline Broughton of Crossroads; daughter-in-law, Linda Stacey of Bay Minette; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 25 at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Gibson and the Rev. Larry Patterson officiating. Burial followed at Pine Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wayne Boyett, Gregg Hanners, Jeff Hanners, Christopher Holmes, Chris Petelinski and Eric Roley.
