FOLEY - Come get a taste of what local restaurants and vendors have to offer during the Foley Optimist Club’s 35th Annual Taste of South Baldwin, happening Thursday, Sept. 16 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Foley Civic Center (407 East Laurel Avenue).
The Taste of South Baldwin is the Foley Optimist Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Funds from the event go towards supporting many of the club’s youth activities and programs. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased from any Optimist Club member, at Foley City Hall front desk, or on the website at foleyoptimistclub.com.
This year’s event is themed “Celebration: A Time To Come Together.” Attendees will be able to sample a variety of food and beverages from multiple local restaurants and vendors while meeting new people and making memories. Door prizes and a huge silent auction will also take place during the event. For the price of admission, attendees will be able to try as many or as few samples as they please.
The Foley Optimist Club sponsors many youth activities in the community, including oratorical and essay contests, scholarships, academic and athletic activities for students, respect for law, recognition of teachers, scouting, Christmas for underprivileged children and other community functions. As “Friends of Youth,” the Foley Optimist Club is committed to supporting the children in its community.
