Georgetta Whisman Harris, age 77, a resident of Fairhope, Ala., passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2015.
Georgetta was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jerry Ardon Harris; granddaughter, Amelia Florence Harris; and siblings Janet Potter, Bill Whisman and Elizabeth Timberlake.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Ray Harris (Regina) of Louisville, Ky. and Jerry Andrew Harris (Diana) of Spanish Fort, Ala.; grandchildren, Beatrice, Kenneth and Emma Harris of Louisville, Ky. and Abigail, Anna and Isaac of Spanish Fort, Ala.; brothers, Phil Whisman and Ron Whisman of Portsmouth, Ohio and Paul Whisman of Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Louella Nelson and Linda Martin of Springfield, Ohio and Carol Cyrus of Portsmouth, Ohio; and many other loving relatives and friends.
A celebration of Georgetta’s life will be held Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, from 10 a.m. until noon at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope.
A private graveside service will be held in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to support Alzheimer’s research.
