George M. Miller

George M. Miller, 85, a native of Baldwin County who grew up in Bon Secour, and a resident of Fairhope, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013.

He was a retired chief inspector from the U.S. Customs Service with 26 years in service, and also worked for GM&O Railroad for 11 years.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Marie Miller, in 1962.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Phyllis Manning Miller; a son, George W. (Patti) Miller; a daughter, Judy M. Pacey (Paul III); five grandchildren, Emily Miller, Kacey Miller, George Colby Miller, Griffin Pacey and Olivia Pacey; a sister, Carolyn Plash of Gulf Shores; numerous other relatives, friends and neighbors.

The family will receive friends at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope, Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, from 5 until 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fairhope. Mr. Miller will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the Church.

Interment will follow at Pine Rest Cemetery in Foley.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 200 S. Section St., Fairhope, AL 36532.
