James M. “Dickie” Geiger, age 80 a native of Jackson, Miss., and a resident of Foley, died Sunday, June 29, 2008 in Foley.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked five years with Mississippi Power Co. in Hattiesburg, Miss., and 32 years with South Central Bell in Alabama.
He was a member of St. Thomas By The Sea Catholic Church in Orange Beach and a member of the Telephone Pioneer.
Survivors include his wife Marion Louise Geiger; daughter, Jan (Bill) Guilfoyle of Orange Beach; son, Jim Geiger of Mobile; brother, Jerry Geiger of Rainbow City; sister, Marilyn (Phil) White of Ft. Myers, Fla.; two grandchildren, Billy and Bobby Guilfoyle, both Midshipmen at the U. S. Naval Academy; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3 at St. Thomas By the Sea Catholic Church in Orange Beach with Monsignor Francis Cusak as celebrant.
Interment with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Fla.
