ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — The Fallen Heroes Memorial Car and Motorcycle Cruise-In at the USS Alabama Battleship Park on Mobile Bay will be held form 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15. The event is sponsored by The Gear Jammers Car Club of Baldwin County.
Opening ceremonies will begin at 11 a.m. with guest speakers form the military and Battleship Commission, along with a fly-over of vintage airplanes. There will be additional activities during the day. Food will be sold at the park.
“We invite all motorcycle clubs and riders along with all classic, anthiqu and hot rod car owners to participate,” said event organizer Frankie Kucera.
A large number of motorcycles and cars are expected for the event. Participants are asked to donate $10 per vehicle. Dash plaques will be presented to the first 300 entries. Spectators will pay the normal parking fee to enter the park.
The Fallen Heroes Memorial will honor all the men and women who have given their all to protect this great nation in the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. It will be placed in the park along with existing Korean and Vietnam War memorials. There will be more than 100 Alabama Fallen Heroes names on the memorial.
“We invite everyone to come participate in this worthy event and support the funding of this memorial,”Kucera said.
A rain date has been set for Oct. 22.
