The staff of Gulf Coast Newspapers surprised Publisher Sudie Gambrell with an appreciation lunch at The Independent in Robertsdale on July 23. Employees cooked hamburgers and deer steak on an outdoor grill while Gambrell was kept occupied and the full staff could assemble. As part of the surprise, Gambrell was presented with a gift certificate to a restaurant. The event was GCN employees' way of thanking Gambrell for her efforts since coming to the company in 2012.
