The Gulf Coast Arts Alliance is excited to announce its indoor Art Market for February.
The event will be held Feb. 9 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Gulf Shores First Presbyterian Church located at 309 East 21st Ave, Gulf Shores. Browse original artwork created by local and regional vendors.
Joanna Almond, with Gulf Coast Arts Alliance, encourages people of all ages to come out to the market.
“It’s a very family-friendly event,” Almond said. “Our indoor ones see a lot of snowbirds; so it’s a great snowbird activity. Also, whenever we have our indoor market the weather is never an issue.”
Make sure to stop by and see this month’s featured artist, Kevin Cobb, of Art at Studio 7108.
Anyone can become a featured artist. You don’t have to be a member of GCAA, but the selectee is usually someone who has shown at multiple art markets with the organization.
“All our artists that we have at these markets are extremely passionate about what they do,” Almond said. “Some do it as a profession, and some do it strictly as a hobby. All love what they do, and I think that really shows when you’re browsing through. They love to talk to people. They love to take their information and learn more about them.”
Kevin Cobb has always been an artist at heart and more recently has pursued his love of creating full time. Cobb enjoys working with pastels, acrylics, watercolors, and loves to balance real life with make believe. His art ranges from portraits and landscapes to the abstract. He always paints from his heart and strives to give all who see his work a new appreciation for all art. Cobb is known for his use of vivid colors and eye-catching portrayal of coastal living. Take a walk through paradise as you browse his many one of a kind paintings.
“We have artists who are there every single month for years,” Almond said. “Our indoor art markets fill up. It’s limit space, and people really want those spaces.
