FOLEY — Representatives from Gateway Initiative will be the speakers at the Foley Public Library’s first quarterly Lunch & Learn of 2022. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 16 at 12 p.m.
The Gateway Initiative, a collaboration between the South Baldwin and Coastal Alabama Business Chambers, is a capital project designed to help the community’s workforce, education and local businesses, and to forge strong bonds and partnerships between other chambers and municipalities.
During the Lunch & Learn, Gateway representatives will share information about the unique collaboration between the two chambers, career pathing strategies for Baldwin County and the Gateway Training Academy for professional development. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.
The Foley Public Library’s quarterly Lunch & Learn program offers participants the chance to listen to and meet community leaders while learning about a variety of topics and initiatives. The presentations include a free lunch.
Past presentations have included representatives from the Foley Police Department discussing programs such as Neighborhood Watch, Yellow Dot, House Check Initiative and Project Shield; South Baldwin Literacy Council Director Mitchell Lee discussing literacy council programs and community outreach; and representatives from the city of Foley’s Community Development Department discussing local economic growth and future development plans.
Reservations are required to attend. You can RSVP online at the library’s website at www.foleylibrary.org or call 251-943-1031. Reservation deadline is Monday, March 14 at 5 p.m. for the free lunch.
