Gary Dean Scott Sr., 67, born in Portsmouth, Va. and a resident of Bay Minette, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011 at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope.

He was a master cabinetmaker and also an auto mechanic for the city of Daphne. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Marie (Smith) Scott of Bay Minette; two sons, Gary Dean Scott Jr. of Alaska and Warren Edward “Eddie” Scott Sr. of Spokane, Wash.; two brothers, Russell Scott of Kentucky and Lonnie Scott of Georgia; one sister, Barbara McAlister of Milboro, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Marie Alexander; two brothers, Gene Scott and R.B. McQueen; and a sister, Brenda Scott.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, at 11 a.m., at the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. Craig Waters officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, from 6 until 9 p.m., at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ron Shaddix, Jerry Davis, Tim Kennedy, Larry Morris and Donald Bettner. Honorary pallbearer will be Ed Counselman.
