From Madd Hatter tea party to Civil War history, there is something for everyone this weekend, April 8-10

Spring has sprung and so have the Easter events. April is one of the busiest months and we are here for it. Enjoy your last weekend of spring break by exploring the fun events happening this weekend. Have tea with the Madd Hatter or meet Paula Deen at OWA, meet the Easter Bunny in Fairhope or fly a kite at Battleship Park. There is something fun for all this weekend from the coast to the delta.

A Very Madd Tea Party
What: Enjoy an unbelievable teatime experience with an outrageous cast of characters straight out of Wonderland. The 45-minute interactive teatime will feature live song and dance, selection of teas and refreshments.
When: April 9, 10, 16 at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. or 3 p.m.
Where: Downtown OWA, 1501 South OWA Boulevard, Foley

Paula Deen Book Signing
What: Celebrity chef, author and entrepreneur Paula Deen will visit her Foley restaurant for a book signing events. The first 250 people will receive a meet and greet wristband to have a one-on-one experience with Deen. Guests making any purchase at the Paula Deen gift shop are eligible to receive a wristband.
When: Saturday, April 9. Doors open at 9 a.m. and signing will take place from noon to 2 p.m.
Where: Paula Deen's Family Kitchen, 203 North OWA Boulevard, Foley

Cost: Free

Living History Day
What: Artillery demonstrations, guided tours of Alabama's largest Civil War battlefield and a special cruise exploring the sites where the major action of the Mobile Campaign took place are on the schedule for Living History Day at Blakeley State Park.
When: Saturday, April 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Blakeley State Park

Price: Cruise tickets are $27 for adults and $17 for children ages six to 12

Kites Over Mobile 2022
What: Mobile Parks and Recreation is hosting the second annual Kites Over Mobile event at Battleship Park. The day will feature professional kite flying demonstrations, show kite displays, kite hospital and more.
When: Saturday, April 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 10, from noon to 5 p.m.
Where: Battleship Park, 2703 Battleship Parkway, Mobile

Price: Parking is $5

  • Daphne Easter Egg Hunt, starts at 9 a.m. and varies by age, Trione Sports Complex, Daphne
