Fries Inside brings popular French street food to Baldwin County

Fries Inside is a locally owned and operated establishment in Daphne, bringing a popular French street food to Baldwin County.

The establishment, located at 28991 U.S. 98, is run by Cosmin Enache and his wife Liliana along with Quentin Prevost. Cosmin Enache arrived in the South Alabama region from France to work for Airbus in Mobile and, after meeting Prevost, they decided to start an endeavor together to bring something from France to the area, which ended up being the popular street food French tacos.

Despite what the name may suggest, these tacos are more like a wrap filled with grilled meat, sauce and fries, hence the name Fries Inside. They have wraps ranging from chicken and steak to flavors like Buffalo Chicken and the “Cowboy Wrap,” which features both ground beef and grilled chicken along with jalapeños, fries and cheese sauce. Along with their wraps, they also serve bowls and smash burgers.

Being independently run, Cosmin Enache said what makes the business stand out from other places of their kind is that they have a more hands-on approach to their food. Coming from an engineering background, the owners had to essentially create everything themselves. Despite some of the challenges, it has resulted in better quality products with Angus beef and homemade sauces, and they are excited to bring something new to Baldwin County.

Fries Inside is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
