Thousands of best-sellers, classics and gently used books will fill the Foley Civic Center as the Friends of the Foley Public Library hosts its annual Book Sale.
The sale opens with a members-only preview on Thursday, Feb. 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. Memberships will be available at the door for $10 for individuals and $15 for families.
The public sale follows Friday, Feb. 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon. On Saturday, shoppers can fill a Tanger shopping bag for $5. Admission is free and open to the public.
Held in the main hall of the Foley Civic Center, the event features thousands of books along with hundreds of music CDs and DVDs and a wide assortment of other media, including audiobooks, CD ROMs, vinyl records and cassettes. Tables of items stretch across the entire venue, creating one of the most varied selections of books and media available under one roof in the county.
Books are sorted and displayed by category, with hardbacks and paperbacks in excellent condition. Categories include science fiction, art, children’s books, popular fiction, cooking, history, biography and large-format photo books. All items are discount-priced at a fraction of typical retail costs.
Proceeds from the sale benefit the Foley Public Library, supporting library services and related literacy projects throughout the community. The Friends of the Foley Public Library is a nonprofit organization dedicated to generating funding and advocacy for the library.
