Friday sports wrapup: Football finals and volleyball Super-Regionals

GULF SHORES, Ala. — Spanish Fort's twice-defending state champion and currently No. 1 ranked football team (5A) remained perfect on the season after a late October Friday night fright for overmanned Williamson.

Bayside's 11-time defending champion volleyball team swept through the 1st round of the state super regionals in Montgomery earlier in the day.

Here's the Friday finals:

Football

Robertsdale 34 - Baldwin County 28

Spanish Fort 49 - Williamson 6

Dothan 20 - Foley 17

Daphne 42 - Enterprise 31

Fairhope 49 - Northview 22

Robertsdale 34 - Baldwin County 28

Gulf Shores 49 - BC Rain 21

THURSDAY: Bayside Academy 39 - Southside Selma 6

Volleyball

Meanwhile, at the state volleyball super-regionals in Montgomery, Bayside Academy swept Greensboro 25-6, 25-10, 25-6. Next up will be Trinity Presbyterian which swept Andalusia-Straughn.

Eleven-time consecutive defending state champion Bayside's record on the season is now 51-8.

Spanish Fort swept Marbury 25-15, 25-7, 25-16 . . . . next up will be Faith Academy which swept Demopolis.

For the other 'super reg.' Baldwin teams . . . . Pelham eliminated Fairhope and Ben Russell also eliminated Gulf Shores.
