Gulf Shores Out & In 2007 free concert series features Doug Breau, June 14 at the Erie H. Meyer Civic Center, 1930 W. Second St. A talented professional vocalist, Breau will be accompanied by a group of exceptional musicians who value showmanship.
Doors for the family friendly event will open at 6:30 p.m., with the show beginning at 7. Attire is casual, and seating will be provided for this indoor concert.
In keeping with the yearlong 50th Anniversary of incorporation for Gulf Shores, organizers have chosen Breau as a special treat.
The theme of his show is “Magic Moments: The Songs We All Love!” Along with unforgettable standards, guests will be treated to ‘50s era pop classics like “Blueberry Hill,” “Smoke Gets In Your Eyes,” “White Sport Coat” and many more.
Breau grew up in a musical family, performing from an early age in school and community productions as well as taking his music into community centers and senior facilities where he continues to donate his time and talent.
He has entertained professionally for more than 15 years, primarily east of the Mississippi, and has recorded four CDs, with another in the works.
Spend a couple of nostalgia-filled hours listening to great music. The evening will be filled with songs made famous by great crooners of the past like Bobby Darin, Perry Como, Patty Page, Andy Williams, Johnny Mathis, Ricky Nelson, Connie Francis and — of course — Frank Sinatra, to name just a few. Listen for your favorite.
Gulf Shores Outdoors & In is a series of free concerts sponsored by the city of Gulf Shores. The season runs April through October annually, with entertainment presented either inside the Erie Meyer Civic Center or in the backyard of the facility.
